We are working on three projects b/w my own kids and the daycare kids:
Dad's Crown:
Frame (older kids can do this):
For the infant that I have, I will be painting a wood frame (with wide wood edges) white, and then putting the baby's handprint on one side, footprint on the other.- Flag

Anybody have a Father's day saying, about following in Dad's footsteps? I did hand prints for Mother's Day, would like to do Feet for Father's Day.
Mine are all babies, so we can't "make" anything.
Off to google Father's footsteps...- Flag

I found this one. I'm going to center it on the paper and put their foot prints on each side. The lady I got it from, did it each year and put them in a frame, on top of each other, so they could see how much her son had grown each year.
Footprints
"Walk a little slower Daddy," said a child so
small. "I'm following in your footsteps and
I don't want to fall."
Sometimes your steps are very fast,
Sometimes they're hard to ss;
So walk a little slower Daddy,
For you are leading me.
Someday when I'm all drown up,
You're what I want to be;
Then I will have a little child
Who'll want to follow me.
And I would want to lead just right,
And know that I was true;
So, walk a little slower, Daddy,
For I must follow you.- Flag

The "Footprints" poem and many other crafts that have been done can be found on this lady's page.
This picture is really neat as well if you have a picture of their family.- Flag

Last year we did a fooprint for Father's day. I traced the outline of a man's shoe onto construction paper and then placed each child's footprint in the middle. We added the caption: Daddy, someday I hope to fill your shoes! Framed in frames from the dollar store. They were a hit.- Flag

I'm not sure what we are doing for daddy's day as far as the daycare kids go. I have a sibling set of three whose dad is um.... Otherwise getting three hots and a cot if you know what I mean. It's sort of a bad spot with the kids. So I'm thinking of doing something that can be mailed like a painting or coloring card craft thing. He can't have gifts or anything like that.- Flag

Out of 11 families in care I have 2 that the father is actively in the child's life. Geeze, we do something each year but most of the kids don't even have or know what a "Father" is and most of the stuff ends up in the garbage.I see little people.- Flag
