    Bugs

I have a 2.5 year old dcb who is TERRIFIED of bugs. This started about three months ago and every time he sees an ant, spider, beetle, etc. he freaks out. It's making things very rough when we go outside because he just stands there crying and screaming (sometimes for hours). I've tried to explain that they're our friends and that they won't hurt us but it isn't helping. Has anyone ever dealt with this before? Thanks for the help!

buy a butterfly nursery and have the child help feed the caterpillars, usually mulberry leaves, and show him they need him. He will see how gentle and dependent they are on him and maybe that will help . Especially when they turn into butterflies. Tell him he helped them grow into those beautiful wings.
This has worked every time with my kids.
I have a girl that was terrified of cats, now she feeds him every morning.
