    Quality Dress up Clothes?

Anyone purchased some quality dress up clothes? Kaplan, Discount School supply, Lakeshore all sell different sets from 12.99 per outfit to a couple hundred for a set. Vinyl, snap closure, capes, etc. I am looking for advice on what is the best kind to buy, what will last, what is actually washable etc. I currently have a small dress up area and am looking to expand, our local childrens store has some but typically only superman, hulk etc. I am looking more for community helper stuff and or animals since my kids are really into that right now.

    Any ideas?

I've built my dress up clothes over the years from after halloween sales and thrift stores. Try Goodwill, I've found awesome boots and hats, vests, skirts etc. Oversized is ok as it usually goes over the kids clothes anyway. So an adult small is sometimes perfect for a child.
Otherwise I've turned all our leftover halloween costumes and my daughters old clothes into dress up. Her Disney princess nightgowns and dressy dresses make great dress up clothes.

We have an awesome chain of thrift stores here called Deseret Industries. I got all my dress up clothes from there. Short prom dresses make wonderful "long" ones on the little girls! Our regs say everything must be washable, so I just throw it all in the washer each week. Vinyl wouldn't last two seconds around here!
