I honestly make a very good living...I make almost as much money as my DH does, and I make more doing this than I would at a "regular" job--when you figure in the cost of childcare for my DD if I had a regular job, the money I make now is even better.

Sure we may only get paid a couple bucks an hour per kid...but when you multiply that by the number of kids you have in care at one time, it's not nearly so bad.
I agree and I'm actually making more than DH right now (he loves it: and double what I was making in a "professional" position before my girls were born that required my master's degree::.

A few years ago I had one of my former kids drop by and we had a nice chat...she said not only did she want to see me but she wanted to stop by to thank me! I asked her what she meant and she said that I had made a difference in her life and her sister's..and all the kids here with them and after them! I was SO shocked but proud that she thought that way..!

She is now a high school teacher as is her sister ...one of my former girls is a veternarian, one is an architect, one of the boys is studying to be a doctor, one has started his own construction business, and so on...and it's certainly not from what I did or didn't do but the fact that so many are having such great careers that makes me so proud of them and happy to know them!

I think babysitting is a really nobel profession. I've enjoyed it for many years.
What I make supports our whole family (5 of us) quite well.

My wife and I started a daycare that quickly made more money than my "real" job. I had to quit to help at the daycare after we placed an ad in yellowpages. My wife still makes way more than she would if she were to try to find a different job. It supported us for 2 years. I have a different job now - but she is still running the daycare and making more than ever. Plus - it is making a huge difference in some kids lives!

You might want to start with some grammar classes first.

Agree completly since the value we put in our kids far out numbers the amount of any CEO or other. This past year investing in my own kids, being there for the diapers, the feedings, the late night tears, its great being dad to such great kids. Hopefully starting my daycare will help me be able to take some of the burden off my wife as the provider for the family's income. I love her and want to do what i am able to do.

I absolutely agree, 1000% ! I make a very good living, and actually, my 'take home' pay is MORE than my college educated husband!

                        What a great post. Thanks!
I actually make more then I would have if I had of went back to work in the "professional world". What I did before was much more stressful, I would have had to pay for childcare and I would have a boss I would have to answer to. ugh! hehe
