My DD7 has lice. Ughh. She had them once in kindergarten and it was terrible trying to get the nits out of her long hair. My younger DD doesn't have it, neither do any of the dck's, luckily enough, but one parent is keeping their child home today. Their son has very short hair, I do'nt think he would be at risk, and i've now cleaned the whole house and DD. Should I refund them for the day?

I'm sorry you are going through this!I would give a credit for next week. It does stink but I think it's the right thing to do. BTW my DS got it last year & he had very short hair so don't rule your son out, just check on a daily basis to make sure no one else has gotten it.

Run to the local drugstore and get a licemeister comb. That ****er gets out everything! I have had parents tell me the kiddo was nit free, check them with my eyes, and then run the comb through and find a zillion of the little clear ones. Now I use the licemiester every friday to check everyone. I hope it goes well for you!
*BTW I would also credit the family- Flag

Yup, I agree I would credit.
I just had a run in with Lice in my daycare last month...my 2 school age daycare kids had it and what a mess!! I was VERY lucky none of my own 4 girls got it as I think the daycare girls had it all through Dec. and I found it in my daycare girl in the beginning of Jan.
I had bought a Robi comb when it was going around the school in Sept...sounds like the same type of comb the previous poster was mentioning, must be there is other brands.....this Robi comb is awesome, it is an electronic comb that makes a high pitch sound and when it catches a louse, the noise stops, it electronically zaps them and it works!!!
The mom treated the 2 girls and said they were fine and I would run the comb through and find more! Probably even ones you can't see with the eye. That comb saved me from the daycare girls possible infesting other kids here.
I highly recommend that comb to have on hand...it's only $30 and you can use it on more than one child (you clean it inbetween uses of coarse)..I got mine at Rite Aid, but they also sell it at CVS, Walgreens, I think Walmart, and not sure what other stores. You can google it: Robi Comb.
Good luck, it is not easy and takes diligent cleaning and nit picking.- Flag
