    2 Year Olds?

I used to work with ones! Now they put me in a room with a co teacher whos new to the room (and not so into the learning stuff. She does a printed off art project, a few songs, bear hunt then table toys till breakfast. Then its outside till lunch, nap, Outside and snack till pick up). The kids get totally out of control often, dont sit well and are just very active. Ive been trying to do more with them and would like some ideas of what else I could do. Friday when I had them alone our day was:
Diapers before breakfast, a story (Pete the cat and a few pumpkin stories) while waiting for DCB therapist (she wanted to see him eat). After breakfast it was outside for a hour. We came in and did a story then songs, calendar and a new game (popicles, you have the Popsicle of felt and a matching stick, kids get the stick, you call the colors, they put the stick in) and they loved it. I let they play till it was closer till lunch then did diapers read pete again (requested by one of the kids) and chicka chicka and since lunch was late a few stories out of a paw patrol book. Then it was lunch and a nap (yes, I required help: then after nap we played inside (too hot to go out). I took out some paint and let the kids "go nuts" on their paper, which they told me they never do. We had another story later in the day and played till it was time to go. All in all it was a good day.

So as you can see my kids are totally into books, and loved the popicle stick game. I'M looking for some ideas for before lunch (20-30 mins) after or before snack (20-30 mins) and for those hot/cold days where I dont want hours and hours of free play. The kids get very excited when I take my bag off the shelf now cause they wanna know what "surprise" is in there (since I stash my books, games, ect) in there. Would prefer things that i can make myself and are very sturdy (my kids are rough)

`I like making memory type games out of pictures printed off the internet onto card stock, then laminated. Or you could make puppets using popsicle sticks and again pictures printed onto card stock. Check out the Jan Brett for lots of printables to go with her books. Any of those things you could make into flannel board games too.

If not, you can make them into magnets and use a cookie sheet.
