I'm looking into a preschool curriculum. I was trying to find posts on what others use but to no avail. Has anyone used Fun Steps. A local daycare facility uses that one. I would have 3 kids that I would do preschool , and was wondering what others use and their cost.

I do my own. I'm actually in the process of putting a lot of my curriculum that I do myself on a website to share with others. Everything that I do is developmentally appropriate, hands on, and active! I'll post in here when I get a few more things on the site.

I am using that curriculum right now. Feel free to ask any questions you need. They have one for 2-3 yr olds and one for 3-5 yr olds. I use both, although I think the 2-3 yr old one is a little young for my group of 2 1/2 yr olds, but the 3-5 yr old one is too much for that age to handle. they only have lesson plans for 3 days a week (which was perfect for my group, since I split up the age groups). There are not many alphabet or number activities though and they have seperate programs for these, at an extra cost. I chose not to get them since it looked like they were all crafts mostly, and plus I couldn't afford the extra charge for it. I figured the regular curriculum would have enough in it, but was disappointed. It says pre-packaged and ready to use with little prep time, but I still spend awhile getting things ready, and the "pre-packaged" mostly means pre-packaged crafts. The other things you have to cut out and prepare on your own. What I've found is they have the crafts ready to go and a lesson plan already written for you to follow. That in itself saves a LOT of time, and I don't have to worry about "missing" something since they follow NAEYC guidelines. They also give you a monthly parent newsletter telling what the children will be doing that month: songs, fingerplays, poems, books, colors, shapes, letters, numbers, etc. and a provider newsletter (which I love reading each month for new ideas).
Which ages are you looking for? I feel the 3-5 yr old one is a little young for my 5 yr olds who will be going to Kindergarten this fall, but too advanced for my 2 1/2 or even 3 yr olds, like I already said.
The cost isn't bad if you go with only one age group rather than both age groups they offer, especially if you go the 9 month subscription route, where they automatically ship it to you in the middle of the month for the upcoming month. The subscription also gives you free shipping (saves a lot right there) and a free music CD (which would normally cost $7 I think).
I called them last summer when I was thinking about ordering them, and asked if they could send me a sample. They actually sent me a free complete one month kit for 2 children! Their customer service is EXCELLENT! I've not had any trouble whatsoever with getting hold of them for questions, adding or removing children from the subscription, etc. It's just VERY VERY professional cutstomer service.
one more thing, their themes aren't like the typical preschool themes very often (at least not this year's). They spend about two days out of the week on the same theme and the rest is special days (like the color of the month theme, or any holidays like presidents day, MLK day, Valentine's day, Easter, etc). Each week is a different topic.
