    I See the Light...

At the end of the tunnel

My husband is off during the week and very rarely takes my son (2yo) when he leaves but today he took him early this morning to run errands and will not be back till later. My day has been so fun and easy today without my kids ::. I was slightly relieved when my oldest went to kindergarten and with my 2 yo gone today I have been enjoying the other 5 daycare kids I have so much better. I always wonder how some of Yale have been doing this for 10+ years and now I know. Just 2 more years left until he goes to kinder and then most of my days will be some sailing Notice I didn't say all my days because I am trying to be realistic

My kid is out next September and she is by far my most annoying child! Lol. Definitely looking forward to ramping up my daycare and making more $$

Yup. I even sent my own youngest to preschool elsewhere a couple of mornings a week.

He's in 3rd grade now. time flies!

yep; your own are the hardest to deal with in home daycare.....however, I did hold both my boys out of school for a year because of their fall birthdays would have had them starting when they were 4. Just couldn't do it, but dh was off one day thru the week plus I have lots of family so they had other things to do to stay away from me constantly

I wish I had somewhere to send my kids. My parents work and so does my mother in law. My husband is off on Wed. and Thurs. and he usually does woodwork on his off days so most of the time I have my kids including the weekend so there is usually never a time that I don't have my kids let alone someone else's. I might have to look into sending him somewhere when he is a little older.

DITTO! I wished people especially family would understand that just because I work with kids all day and enjoy my job doesn't mean I want everyone else's kids on the weekends. The past few years I have had people get angry with me because I have had to say "NO"....just because I am home doesn't mean your kids can stay here every weekend, especially with family. Makes me crazy!

Here they start full day jr kinder at 4. It is ridiculous and I really don't want to send her. I may end up doing 1/2 days to treat it like a preschool. She is in preschool 3 afternoons a week right now and I only send her to get a break!!

Dh and i run an infant/ toddler program. Ds turns 2 this fall and ay the beginning of next year, we are sending to preschool for 1/2 days. He is so challenging during the week but i also think he will get tired of being around babies all day and will want to do more than our program offers.
I just have to find a kid to fill his spot while he is gone so we can afford it.

I get it. When my husband takes my daughter for a few hours (errands, work, whatever) it feels like I'm barely working. :: Even though I have 11 other kids ages 2-5.

I looked into sending my own preschool aged daughter to a 2 day a week preschool program (away from my own preschool) but there were none to be found where I could drop her off and pick her up with my hours. She's very strong willed and very challenging. I never waiver in my discipline and she is always expected to follow the rules. 1/2 of our mornings here are spent with her screaming, yes screaming, and trying something crazy like hitting me. It goes very, very poorly for her and she then changes her attitude to joyful. Oh me, oh my.

I have no light at the end of my tunnel. Homeschooling. I'll pretend there's a light, though, anyways for my sanity.
