But I've never bought them for dc. One of my dcms gave us some. And I need to get some now. They were the most awesome things! I loved them, the kids(all ages) loved them, they are so much fun! And the best part is I get to play in the huge bowl of them all by myself tonight. I don't have to be nice and share.
Watch out Amazon, I'm coming to put Water Beads on my 'to buy' list.

Has anyone had a problem with them molding/ getting slimy? The last batch I had (admittedly the cheap off brand store stuff) lasted less than a week before they got nasty.

I made a giant tub of glow-in-the dark ones.

They got slimy but it was like after 30 days... so more than enough time to play and toss without feeling bad.

Every couple of days, I put fresh water with a few tablespoons of rubbing alcohol in mine and them soak over night. In the morning I put the beads in a colander and rinse with clean water before letting the children play. Doing this, I haven't had any issues with mold or sliminess.
