    I'll admit I've gotten the "boys will be boys" line from more than one DCP. I think the issue is that when boys behave badly we give them a pass. But we as a society have less tolerance for poor behavior from girls.

    I've found that with the change in parenting culture - where we are trying to raise boys to be verbal and sensitive and girls to be as rough and tumble as the boys, issues that used to be associated with "just" boys (i.e. The wrestling, play fighting, etc) are just as likely to be an issue with girls and the "drama" that used to be solely a "girl" issue is just as likely to be caused by the boys. I've had girls who wrestled and play fought, I've had whiny, tattly boys.
