    Moving from Crib to Mat

I have an 18mo DCG who is currently sleeping in another room in a pack n' play. When she turns 2 I want to get her on a mat with the other kids. How have you tackled this transition? She sleeps pretty well in her PnP, was a nightmare in the beginning but only screams once in a while after I put her in it. She's asleep within a few minutes.

    I am thinking of
    a) moving her PnP into the hallway or living room she can be more used to people moving around her
or b) just cold turkeying it - trying to move her on a mat now so we have time for the transition.

    What would you do?

I just did it cold turkey today, it was fine. Of course, dcb, age new 2, is familiar with what nap time setup looks like. He helps to set up and take down the other dck's beds (everyone thinks it's fun).

Is this the same girl who was screaming a ton....? That felt so recent if it is the same girl then I am not sure I would switch her routine too soon or abruptly.... certainly not cold turkey.

Also have you gotten the two boys (your son and the other close to his age) to lay quietly on their mats the entire nap period? If you move the girl in a couple months it might help to have the other children already squared away so she is just following the routine and not her viewing them fighting sleeping. When you feel the time is right I would move the pack in play either directly in the room you would have the nap mat or gradually doing so.

Oh that's been solved a while, they all lay down now - it was mostly because my husband was home while I had the baby and my eldest wanted to hang out with dad. Of course that made DCB want to hang out too

I think I mainly just hate using a pack n' play - they take up so much room and putting them up and down is such a hassle. This little girl has been in this room all alone for 2 months so I was just thinking of moving it into the hallway to see how she does.

Cold turkey would be in November when she is two. I want to gradually ease into it if I can though.
