I enrolled a drop in client, 3.5. She has attended a handful of times over the last few months. She is a SAHM and uses the spaces for me time/appts/to get things done. No big deal. The mother recently asked me for a FT space starting as soon as it was available, she wants to return to work FT. Dcg and dcm are fine, so I agreed to put her on my waiting list.
I had her in attendance yesterday, and a provider friend walked by with her crew while we were outside. The little girl knew her by name!
Chat with provider, this provider just 'let them go' and will not accept her as a drop in. I find out Mom DOES work FT. Dcg was enrolled as a drop in with her, with a half dozen other providers AND at the YMCA child care program! Mom literally uses a MINIMUM of 8 day cares. She pays daily, and since she is drop in, she has no obligation to pay for days dcg isn't in attendance. The provider was able to send me links to photos of this girl, all within the last month, at 7 other places on daycare websites and fb pages! She never confronted the dcm, just 'no longer has any availability'. From talking to the kid, it sounds like dcm tries to pawn her off with friends, family first "Sometimes I go to (name)'s house, or (grandparents) if nobody can watch me, I get to go to school that day! I like this school and X school the best!"
Anyone seen this before? What a hassle! and NO, I am NOT enrolling them.
