    Bubble Recipe

Does anyone have a good one? I mean a tried and true one? I hate crappy bubbles.

      • Liquid dish soap (Joy or Dawn brands work best. Try to find one that doesn't say 'Ultra')
      • Distilled water (tap water is okay, but distilled water makes the best bubbles)
      • Clean container with lid
      • Glycerin or light corn syrup

      What You Do:

Measure 6 cups of water into one container, then pour 1 cup of dish soap into the water and slowly stir it until the soap is mixed in. Try not to let foam or bubbles form while you stir.

Measure 1 tablespoon of glycerin or 1/4 cup of corn syrup and add it to the container. Stir the solution until it is mixed together.

You can use the solution right away, but to make even better bubbles, put the lid on the container and let your super bubble solution sit overnight. (Note: If you used "Ultra" dish soap, double the amount of glycerin or corn syrup.)

Dip a bubble wand or straw into the mixture, slowly pull it out, wait a few seconds, and then blow. How big of a bubble can you make? How many bubbles can you make in one breath?

Use glycerin or corn syrup to make extra-strong super soap bubbles in this fun science project! Learn more about surface tension, and how bubbles form.

Okay question. I see glycerine in many bubble recipes. Whatever does it do?

I'll have to get some glycerine. I hesitate to use corn syrup as my kids will probably be wearing some of it.

I tell ya...just plain old Dawn. I get great results and always have with just Dawn dish soap. I've tried the glycerin and also using corn syrup in the mix. I figure why bother.

I have the big bubble wands from Dollar Tree. I squirt in enough Dawn, fill the bucket with water and we have great bubbles. I use plenty of soap but I just squirt it in. I don't measure.

I think the key is enough dish soap.

I had DD pick some glycerin up. It is cheap enough considering the little amount you use. Two of my girls helped me make it this afternoon for later use. Wednesday is the last day of school and they get out an hour early so we will play with them then.

I'll have to try that one, the bubbles we've been getting from the store have been terrible. We do have the best bubble blowers from Target. They are great for when the toddlers want lots of bubbles an you just can't blow them anymore. http://www.target.com/p/amazing-bubb...s/-/A-16343307

Yes, some of the store bubbles are awful!

                        Bubble Man Bubbles

Here is the website to a professional bubble man we have in town that puts on shows for kids. He says its the same solution he uses so I'm sure it must be good.

Store bought bubbles I tend to like "Super Miracle Bubbles" but I did get one bad batch one time. usually buy big double refill pack. I have bought cheap tiny little party bubbles that worked great tho and I just refill them as there isn't much waste if they drop it. Also bought small hand size ones to refill and the original bubbles worked great as well. We don't tend to go through to many bubbles kiddos are more into water play. they like the bubbles but only play with them for a short time.
