    Fairy Doors, Gardens and Houses

Is anyone else doing this? I built us a small fairy garden today. The kids are so excited. So I am thinking they can write little notes to leave our fairy. I am thinking tomorrow, one may move in and leave a little note. I am thinking she could leave us small treats sometimes or something. Those of you who do this, what do you do with it?

Thrifty, I think that's a great idea! They could be just little things, think Dollar Tree! Or a new dc book, anything. What if you made your fairies mischievous, kind of like the Elf at Christmas. I've bought stuff for the dcks to make their own fairy houses this summer, hopefully they'll 'get into it'. I have a perfect tree in front that would be so great to work on together but not sure how that would go, cooperative planning and creating sometimes blows up with dcks who all want to be in charge. But I've been keeping my eyes open for tiny ceramic creatures, etc. to add. Those things can become expensive. I need to start picking up small sticks and other nature's goodies off the ground too.

~I love all these ideas of a fairy garden and the elf on a shelf & allhappyface. It reminds me of "The Letter People" when I was in elementary school. ~Before school everyday I'd be so excited to get there to see if we had a new letter person...was it Mister M or Miss A or Mister N with a noisy nose perhaps! I love for the kids to be as excited as I was back then! It's so worth the effort; so thank y'all for doing these things for the childrenlovethis...They make for magical memories!

~BTW- Not to hijack the thread, but does anyone else remember "The Letter People"?

We made a fairy garden this year! I added the door from the Boogie Wipe box and the kids were all over it for a week or two. They loved it and the magic around the idea. One of my SA'ers still gets jealous that the tooth fairy lives in our backyard.

Well today she left us a Frozen book and a note thanking us for building her a house! He name is Pixie! Tomorrow the kids are going to write notes to leave her. I picked up some Pixie sticks for her to leave them at some point since her name is Pixie.

Big Lots had the houses, gate and stone pathway and Dollar Tree for everything else. I've seen some fairy garden kits at Home Depot that looked awesome though! I think they were $15 for everything you need. I already had mine so I didn't buy it but I would have started there otherwise.

I've seen tons of fairy garden things at Hobby Lobby, JoAnn's and Michaels. I'd definitely check those places out as I was floored at how much stuff they had...Hobby Lobby actually has an entire aisle devoted just to fairy gardens.

You could also go the on-line route as they are lots of online stores devoted to just fairy gardens.
