We focus HEAVILY on manners... All of my kids know how to sit and to clean up their spots when they are done by the time they are 2 minus the occasional reminders. Most of our kids start at the table once they are steady on their feet. They learn to use utensils while they're in the high chair and we slowly transition to real cups.
