Hello all! I currently have a home day care in Maryland and we are thinking about relocating to Pennsylvania. Does anyone know of the regulations for having a home day care in PA? For instance, I know in Maryland, if you are operating your day care in your basement, you need to have two means of egress from the basement and your ceilings need to be at least 6 ft high. I'm trying to get an idea of things to make sure that we have once we begin looking for a house.
Also, is the process to start a home day care in PA extensive? I know in Maryland, I had to attend an orientation, take the required class hours and pass a few home inspections in addition to going to the zoning board.
Thanks in advance for your feedback!
