How to word text? DCG sent with overnight diaper, leaked all over.

One of my DCGs showed up in her overnight diaper today and leaked pee EVERYWHERE. She has shown up in *kinda* full diapers before but this one took the cake. In my handbook it says children are to show up in a fresh diaper, how can I professionally word my text to her mom to tell her a) Her daughter had an accident because she was wearing her overnight diaper and b) this cannot happen again. Help!

    Thanks!

"Hey DCM, just wanted to give you a head's up. Baby Jane arrived today in a diaper that was pretty full. I wasn't aware that she was so wet and unfortunately found out when she leaked all over me. Mornings are pretty busy here so if you wouldn't mind could you please make sure that she has a fresh diaper on no more than 30 minutes before she is dropped off. Thank you!"

Lol she replied that she did put a fresh diaper on her which I highly doubt. This thing was bloated. Oh well. I hope calling her out on it will just make her more aware.

That is usually their reply. Whether true or not, I am sure we all know but yes, you are right....it atleast brings it to her attention that you did notice her kid was wet so hopefully she will be more diligent about it moving forward.

I would start checking her as son as she is dropped off, in front of mom. I hate when a parent says they just changed them when you know darn well they didn't because they are usually implying you've neglected to change them. After I text a parent about her infants blow out she text back "did he sit in it for a long time, I've never seen a mess this big?" in response to the messy clothes I sent home. My reply was to tell her to look at the original text I sent her which was sent less than an hour after he arrived that day. I can't stand a parent insinuating that I've been neglectful when generally I change their child more frequently than they do at home.

Gross. I had a dad who used to pull his kids out of bed to drop off. Soaked diapers and morning breath and drool crusted faces. It was so gross.

I agree about checking when she arrives. We are all pretty good at the "feel" test, so just take her from mom and do a squish test and if it full, hand her back to mom and say to dck "whoops! Looks like your diaper is full! I will get a diaper and wipes for mom to change you before she goes!" Big smile and hand her back!

There is a HUGE difference between the smell of stale urine in an overnight diaper and a fresh full diaper. I can SO tell when it's an overnight. GROSS. I have a dck who pees the bed and they kept forgetting (!?) to take her out of a pullup. I started checking at drop off (busiest drop off time of day), too. I would just hand dcm wipes and clean underwear from her cubby "Opps, Jane still has her night time pull up on. Here Mom." Then it happened in front of other parents and dcp was mortified. Last time it happened, thankfully.
