    Potty Training

DCG will be 3 in December. Has NO interest in potty training. Is too big for diapers, they leak often, she is a hefty girl. Have tried the every 15 minutes without success. She has even went for 3 hours in underwear on a few occasions without using the bathroom. Had to put diaper on for naptime, stayed dry, then woke up and completely filled diaper through to clothes before I could get her to the toilet. Any other suggestions?? Thxs

    Depends undergarments.
Potty training doesn't work unless she is ready. Just a stress for you

Not a daycare situation but I had this issue with my first child. She is a "space cadet" essentially and it was very difficult to get her to leave her play to use the toilet...she would pee and just carry on playing. ZERO interest! Finally at 3 yrs old I was pregnant and I knew that when baby came there would be no time for PTing so I started to use rewards. I swore I would never ever use rewards but I was desperate. She PT'd in 2 weeks with rewards. I gave her one chocolate chip for a pee and 3 for a poo.

I have a dcb who is almost 5. He is in goodnights pull ups (cheaper than depends, they go to 100+ lbs.) I do NOT engage. If he goes, great. If he doesn't, I don't care. It's NOT my battle. His parents have failed and I won't do the work anymore.

My son 3y9m isn't ready. Kids used to be potty trained by kindergarten. Now its 3y for preschool. many pride themselves on their child potty trained by 2yrs, 18months. I'm an older mom (51) with children from 25 yrs down to my youngest son. He has 2yrs before kindergarten. Plenty of time. My daughter was 3y5m. She woke up and announced no more pulllups. And she did it. On her own by herself. No drama.

I should also say DCB had potty issues at 6yrs. Urologist said more veggies for fiber, water to prevent dehydration. Both things cause kids to not be able to read their body signals.
