    Hanging dcks' artwork

Any suggestions on how to hang up their pictures and art? Sometimes it feels like I'm just throwing it on the walls and saying there it is.
I'd like to display it attractively so it catches parents' attention. Plus what do you use to hang it up? I've used tacks(way up high), tape and sticky tack. Some of the tape and sticky tack must be cheap cause it doesn't always hold. I'll hear things falling off during the night and my dogs go nuts.

I don't make creative displays. I think kids just like to see what they made on the wall. I see them talk about it and show their friends. :-)

If you really want to make a creative display, I would check out pinterest. I get the best ideas there.

For hanging it, I only use ticky tack or masking tape. Neither leaves marks on the wall. You have to use the higher end brand or it just falls off the wall.

For those who havent used it, ticky tack is a sticky putty for putting up posters. You can buy it just about anywhere. (Target, Walmart, etc) It's also great because you can reuse it many times.

I think I am the odd man out - I don't display the kids artwork. I will take a pic of everyone's art together and put it on the FB business page for parents and extended family to see and then the artwork goes home the same day.

I wouldn't strive to but it's a requirement for STARS.

I use tacky stuff to hang. The stuff I get at Wal-Mart holds well and is old! I just hang in groupings. It's cute! I have dedicated cc space. I would go NUTS with it hanging right in my house!

I painted some old picture frames, nailed them to the wall and hung a document clip on the nail. The artwork is pinched through the clip and it hangs in the frame. I have 6 frames, varying colors and sizes, on one wall near the door.

I put artwork against Colored construction paper before taping to wall. The background color paper makes art work stand out. I also have cardboard art frames. Come in 10-12 to a pack, solid colors, clear pocket front. I give one to parents with the art work when they first start. I ask them to replace with new art work sent home. I hang same frames in my play area to display before sending home.

Sometimes tape, and sometimes I frame all of their projects in a huge display. Just a cheaper poster frame will do. That way they can have it eye level, yet they can't destroy it, either.

I'm pretty sure I got that idea on here ...

Some of these ideas would work nicely! Thank you!

I did dress up the kitchen door that stays closed a lot. I taped up a big tree, then decorated it with apples they'd painted, and taped their paper plate apples all along the door frame, then cut out the word apples, in yellow, green and red for the top of the frame. It's cute. I may do something similar for the door in the living room for fall leaves.

Me too! I've got a clothesline hanging on the wall in both my play room and my kitchen. They love to see it displayed and its high enough the toddlers can't pull it down. Ideally, I like to send everything home on Fridays and start fresh with new pics to hang each monday, but in reality there's a lot going on here and sometimes the same pics stay up for a few weeks at a time.

I understand completely. I am licensed exempt so thankfully do not have to deal with stars, yet.

I don't really display anything either. At least not any longer than it takes from the time they did the artwork to the time they are going home.

I snap a picture of it and keep it for sharing later.

I also participate in the stars program for my state.
One of the ways around that is to hang it up to dry or until the child is going home. Snap a picture of it. Hang the photo on the parent board in the entry way.

There is nothing in our rules that says we have to leave kids' art work up for "X" amount of time.

It talks only of displaying it.
NOT about how long it must be displayed. (at least not in my state)

I do display it on a clothes line type string with clothes pins across my large bulleting board. Parents take their child's items at pickup that same day.

We do the same thing the next time there is artwork.

I don't leave anything up longer than that day. The only thing I have to "show" for any of it is the photo I took of it all hanging there before anyone arrived to pick up.
