We just finished up a really fun dinosaur unit and we're getting ready to start a fairy tale unit next week. We're going to be talking about table manners again with this unit. I LOVE Heidi's idea of using placemats to help them know where to put their plates & cups. We made son & laminated them, but they got ruined quickly so I made some out of PUL fabric. Seems to be working well
Any other ideas on how to make using manners at the table more fun? We've made a lot of progress, but some of the issues a few are still struggling with is facing their plates (versus turning sideways in their seat), using their utensils instead of fingers, & using calm table voices (one likes to yell or chant funny phrases loudly during the meal:confused. I want it to be fun, not stressful. I'm thinking of tying in the prince/princess royalty thing into it. Kind of thinking out loud here
