    Already concerned...

I haven't even opened my daycare yet, but I am advertising now hoping to have two kids lined up for care starting sometime in October. I had my mom send out an email to everyone in the school system since I am interested in taking on teachers kids and having the summers off. A teacher emailed this morning saying she was interested and could we "sync up this afternoon to talk" I emailed back saying yes "what time should I call" she emailed back saying "can I call you? What's your phone number?" I feel like she is trying to be in control already. The whole reason I am doing home daycare and not nannying is because, in fact, I want to be my own boss. Am I overreacting?

Yes. Calm down. It sounds routine to me.

Maybe she doesn't know the exact time she will be free to talk so she would rather call you then have to keep changing the time for you to call her

I agree with you. I would e-mail here and tell her you prefer to call her at one of these times/dates and then give her a list of available times. If she pushes, you have your answer. The best piece of advice I learned when I opened was to trust your instincts. Even if they don't make sense to others. You are the one that has to be in the situation
