It is the parents not the kids. Kids behavior is bad because of what parents have allowed their children to get away with. I have seen so many passive parents in the last 10 years that I want to tell them point blank YOU NEED TO PARENT.

Parents who drop off at open, pick up at close and put their kids to bed early so they don't have to deal with them are my pet peeves.

Also what about parents that put their older kids into every activity possible and then haul the younger one around to these activities after a full day of daycare? I am sorry but I am sure that little 3 or 4 year old only wants to be home with mom and dad for the night. Not be dragged all over the place only to be hauled out of the car and put to bed right away when they get home.

You know parenting used to be a profession now it is a hobby.

oh me and friend who also does daycare were just talking about this in the last 15 years things have changed so much. The average parent doesn't want to spend anytime with their kids they just want to have them to keep up with the Jones why have them if you don't want them?

I'm also sick of listening to state assisted parents tell me about their tax refunds of up to multiple $1000's each year for only having to work a couple hours a week and have their childcare paid for!!! I will never understand this! I work my butt off for long hours so the single parents with multiple babydaddies can reap the rewards!!
I get this too! I had one dcm who actually didn't pay me and then actually complained to me for 2 weeks about being broke. I was like I know what you mean I didn't even get paid this week! She shut her mouth pretty fast. Oh did I mention her assistance pays for her rent, food, medical, and most of daycare? And they just bought an $8,000 tv and took a vacation??? must be rough....

You all are so right!! Things sure have changed with parenting over the years! I wish parents would realize what they are doing to their kids, but they just don't seem to care.

It is the kids that I feel for. They need us providers to show them that we care about them and give them the attention that they deserve during the day.

The reason why people today have kids is a selfish one. They are simply filling a void in their life. The problem is once filled they don't know what to do with the kid from then on. Therefore DC. Lucky you!
