    Rough Day

Tuesdays are my busiest days but today is putting me through the ringer. I feel so on edge, dcg 4 1/2 has been fighting with everyone even but dcb 3 1/2. Dcb 3 1/2 decided he didn't want lunch so he threw it on the floor. Dcg 3 1/2 misses mommy and doesn't want to come anymore. I feel like a big grump all the time

After nap I would pull out "something else" - waterplay, a different building toy that you can help get them started on and so they are working together, have snack outside, paint or paint with water outside. On days that they are pushing all the buttons instead of giving into the temptation to be a grouch back at them, I find mixing it up works much better. So go blow bubbles, see how far everyone can jump (mark it with sidewalk chalk), dance to songs, balance bean bags on your heads, walk on a pool noodle like a balance beam, make roads with blue tape and create a town. make window green houses and toss some dried beans into them to watch them grow after reading Jack and the beanstalk- shaving cream, finger paint and some animals outside on a play table or in a plastic bin (just have a bucket for water to wash off with- paint with flowers pull out some toys you haven't played with for a while
