I have a dcg girl who will be 2 in august and I am having a few issues recently and was looking for advice. I only take a small group, so everyone had their own nap rooms and she had no issues with nap at all, until about a month ago. She started just getting up and coming out of her room and when I would take her back to her bed, she FLIPPED out and was a monster. I ended up having her sit in the chair in the living room, because honestly, I didn't know what to do with her. It was a side I had never seen. The next day the same thing happened. I have a pnp in the living room, so the next day, I decided just to put her in there for nap and she slept no problem. So, now I have a new problem. She wants to go "nite nite" all the time. She gets mad a d just cries, even when I try to distract her and move her onto other things. It is getting old. The other day I just put her in the pnp and we all went about our day, but I really didn't like doing it, just needed a break from the crying. My other issue is that she has a pacifier still and wants it all day long. Mom sad they are going to break it soon, but still no word on if they are starting soon. She cries all day if I don't give her the paci and I am getting so tired. I was having so much fun with her up until the last few months and now I dread having her come, because she is the only one who whines and cries all day and it is grating on all of our nerves. Any advice? TIA!

If not and there really isn't any real reason for her whining then I would give the issue to the parents.
If she used to play happily and not cry but is now crying/whining for more than 30-60 minutes, I would call for pick up.
You should not have to listen to that all day nor should the other kids. Also, as a parent I wouldn't want my child whining all day.
I know you said she wants her paci all day and if that really isn't an option (I don't allow them all day here either) then I would tell her no. Plain and simple.
If the crying continues for more than 30-60 minutes again call for pick up.
I know others will say that the child will just learn to cry and get mom/dad to come get her and that might happen but honestly, WAY TOO MANY parents expect providers to just "deal with it" and endure endless hours of crying/whining as if it's part of the job. It is to a certain extent but endless all day whining/crying is NOT part of my job...at least not for the rates I am paid.- Flag
