    Anyone Else Have Monday Stress?

I don't know why I let Monday get to me so much, but I do. Kids are usually cranky from not napping all weekend (because parents "can't" get even the 12 month olds to nap).

I have thought about a cigarette all.day.long. It's been so long since I have craved one, but I think if I had one, I'd smoke it.

What do you all do for stress relief during the workday? I swear I can FEEL myself wound tight today! I'm glad that tonight is a night out for me (golf league)-I need it!

    I actually LOVE Mondays
I get back to my routine, schedule, etc. Because I'm "in charge" I know I'll get breaks throughout the day when I need them (admittedly the fact I have an assistant come in for a few hours on Monday mornings helps with that:: )

    But I'm weird

Same here. I love Mondays because the kids are visibly excited about getting back into their regular routines and are usually very well behaved on Mondays compared to other days.

Mondays every one naps for 3+ hours and I usually have to wake them for afternoon snack.

Sorry you are having a stressful day...

Maybe the cigarette craving is in the air....my DH quit smoking cold turkey when he got Type 1 diabetes..... he was a 3 pack a day smoker...

He hasn't said a word about wanting a cigarette until this morning...he was outside with the kids building a raised planter bed for some of our vegetables and he said for some reason he suddenly craved a cigarette.

I chalked it up to the neighbor who smokes (outside on her stoop) and thought maybe he could smell it but he said he has before and it's never made him crave one. Today for some reason he said he'd have smoked if someone near him had one and offered it to him.....

Hoping tomorrow is better for you and that you get your tense-ness worked out on the golf course.....without breaking any clubs.

Weirdo! These are just my worst days lately. Maybe it's because I'm trying to cram my whole day in before 5PM because I will be out all night. I'm glad for you that you have an assistant on Mondays-that has to help!

Thanks. Those cravings never stop completely, but I just can't believe how strong it was today. I got a little tense-ness out on the course. It was the beer that did it-my game ****ed! ::

My Monday dcks are usually not too bad. A lot of tired and whining, usually. My Mondays have gone from a little planning to nothing. The dcks are excited to see each other, play well and then are usually ready for an earlier nap. I've learned to let it all go and just go with it.

Now yesterday was another story. I don't know what happened to my group of mostly behaved dcks but the group that was dropped off yesterday morning was a little wild. I had to correct their language constantly in the morning, deal with an above normal level of Monday whines, talk a dck down from her sugar high and encourage her to not bounce off the fence. Talk her up when she crashed. Reel in a violent game, not once but three times and deal with a whole onslaught of potty language, jokes and actions! What a show! My neighbours must have thought we were crazy but there was no way we were spending one minute longer inside than we had to. I felt like I needed to eat a pound of sugar to keep up with them. ::

Needless to say, rest time was 90 mins early.

I also find when I have things I have to do after work, it makes my day more stressful.
Hopefully the rest of the week gets better and you don't have the cravings. On a side note, my father has severe COPD from years of smoking, and even though they've told him 3-5 years *if* he can stop smoking completely, he cant' seem to Sending "resistance" vibes your way

It's amazing what stress makes us want to do to ourselves, besides pull our hair out. NEVER pick up that cigarette. Never ever!! No stress is worth it.

I'm a terrible binge eater, driven by emotional stress. Great job for that huh? Kitchen's right here, stress is all day long. Yesterday all I wanted to do was eat eat eat. Thankfully, I have mostly healthy stuff stocked. Worst thing I had were crackers and cereal. A handful of either one isn't a diet breaker like a bag of cookies can be. I've been indulging in bottled water lately so I'll grab one if I feel like exploding. Believe it or not, it's helped.
Plus just walking away from the situation. Sometimes I just have to do that. As long as the problems are separated and are no longer dangerous to each other.

My Mondays are always rough, but yesterday was exceptionally hard. They're all exhausted and out of routine, most of very babied so getting back into the realities of 'you CAN do things yourself' is tough. I plan nothing but good play, good food and good rest times.
