    More regs / screening children

Oh Goody more new regulations coming . This is the info I received recently .

Beginning in July 2016 new regulations will take effect requiring all licensed early care and education programs ( centers and home providers) to conduct development screening on children ages birth through five years old.

I can chose from these -
Ages & stages questionnaires third edition
    Best beginnings development screenings
    Brigance early childhood screen lll
Developmental indicators for the assessment of learning fourth edition
Early screening inventory ( revised 2008 edition )

Has / does anyone use any of these ? If so which do you like / dislike?

I've used ages and stages. Pretty easy to use.

Part of our QRIS (Parent Aware in MN) says we MUST assess the children in our care twice yearly.

      I use Teaching Strategies Gold.

It's VERY time consuming but required so...

Ages and Stages---- easy!!! I happen to like the assessments. It gives me a way to open up the conversation to parents without being perceived as the bad guy.

So, how does Ages and Stages actually work? I mean, if I buy the starter kit, how many children can I use it with before I need to purchase additional materials? Are you given permission to make copies, or do you have to purchase new forms?

My OYC office (basically our CCR&R) sells them for $5 dollars-for the cost of paper and ink. I just copy them and use them as many times as I need to. You could check with your local CCR&R to see if they have them.
