I give parents 60 minutes from the time I contacted them to have the child picked up and gone from my property.

depends on what is wrong with the kid.

      Nothing major 45min

      high fever over 103.5 asap

      I don't give meds.

I also don't contract families that work more than 30 min away. they have to have an adult that can pick up within the 30 minute radius, which in Cali is not measured by how many miles away they work its by time. It can take you two hours to drive 20 miles on a friday.............

60 minutes from initial contact. If they can't then someone on emergency contact would need to. If it's a really high fever or a true emergency it is ASAP or I will be calling an ambulance.

45 minutes. There isn't anyone who couldn't be here in 10 minutes from anywhere in town if they left when they got my call.

I don't have a specific time frame. Some of my parents work/live close by or have jobs where they can leave right away while others are farther away or would have to wait for back-up at work to arrive before they could leave. For me, a lot depends on how sick a child is and what they're sick with. I want the kid who is vomiting out faster than the child who has an ear infection.

I do usually ask the parent how quickly I can expect them to arrive. If, given the circumstances, it's not fast enough for me, I ask if there is someone else who could pick the child up sooner. I've rarely had to wait more than a half hour, though.
