That woman is totally killing any love of learning your little one might still have.

If you need help with options, PM me. I would be more than happy to go over some of the choices with you.

I will probably be pm'ing you to tap that wealth of knowledge and experience.

Ds is 6, and he loves the daycare kids. When he is home, he follows our routine. I spoke to dh about it and he agrees that if we can't work it out with another teacher, we will homeschool. We homeschooled dd for K/part of 1 for medical reasons, but I worked evenings, so we have some experience.

I'm registering with a non Christian cover church (we're not Christian and didn't want to have to submit a statement of faith) who is very hands off and will take the next few days to decide on a curriculum. Any suggestions for something well rounded and affordable would be greatly appreciated!

Diva, you're doing the right thing. Your boy deserves better than what this teacher has to offer. I can only hope she isn't treating the other children this way.
    I'm so sorry Wednesday.

    Your poor kiddo.
I spoke to the principal, and he is going to work out a change in teacher. I'm nervous that he will be labeled as a troublemaker and treated worse. We are going to give the new teacher a month, and then reassess.

Ds is going to see a counselor next week, dh and I have spoken to him of course but we are both upset by the things he has said in the last week.
    I hate my life.
    Everyone hates me.
    I'm stupid.
    I don't do anything right.
    I'm a loser.
    I have no friends.
I'm so sad all the time.

    to name a few.

Oh he!! no! That is not Ok for such a young innocent child to be thinking about himself. I just feel so bad for him. He's very lucky to have you. Some parents just stick them on the bus and say deal with it. But you seem truly invested in his well being. Good for you, mama bear!!

Here is an excellent site for homeschool curriculum:

At Rainbow Resource Center, we want to help you personalize your child's education! Discover over 50,000 products across all subjects & grade levels.

I suggest lots of games and hands on learning for younger kids. You can teach so much with picture books and activities that go along with the book. Nature studies, hikes, field trips are all awesome learning opportunities.
