I have never heard of a rash following a fever besides Hand, Foot & Mouth & Roseola. Are there others?
I have a daycare child this week who had a fever Sunday evening. Mom kept her home Monday to make sure Fever was gone. She came back Tuesday. I changed her diaper in the morning, it looked like she had a bad diaper rash. After her afternoon nap the bumps in her bottom area started traveling up her thighs & then her face started breaking out around her lips, under her nose & her cheeks. I got ahold of mom & had her picked up. They did not think it was HFM so they said we will see you tomorrow. I spoke up & said she couldn't come back until they take her to the Dr to determine what the rash is.
They took her the next day-Wednesday- The Dr said if us just a viral rash & it has to run its course. Dr said it isn't contagious if fever is gone. So I let her come back Thursday. Her face cleared up a lot but her bottom & thighs were still rashy. After dad dropped off I decided to look at her hands. There were about ten red dots & one blister! I had mom pick up again. She took her to stat care & she said stat care said the same thing her Dr said. I did not allow her back today.
I hate making parents upset with them having to call off work but I don't know what else to do.
What do you all think it is? Hfm?
My son just came down with a 100.1 fever so now I am really freaking out because they say they get the fever first then a day or two later the rash starts for hfm.
