    Door Chime

Does anyone use any sort of door chime or something similar that alerts you when the door opens? I've been looking on Amazon for one but they are either really cheap with not so good reviews or are more like an alarm system which is not what I want.

I have one on all three doors here. I got them at Home Depot... They have a switch for on off and when the door opens, they DING. There were lots of choices depending on the sound etc.

I also have one on th camper door because for some reason the camper door opened occasionally at night and I didn't want the dogs to get out.

Home Depot has one that another member uses and says she likes. It chimes or alarms and you can turn it off.

this is the one that I have it cost $11 and it works perfect... I have it on during nap time beucase during the rest of the day we have preschool my kids are 100% supervised.

nap time is the only time we don't give 100% supervision and so we turn it on during that time.

I don't personally but I took my class to visit a couple of FCC programs last Saturday and one of them had a system that said "Side door open" "Front door open" etc when one of the doors opened. It was really cool!

We have an alarm system and I can turn the chime on. It will say which door is open and then beep.
Side sliding door open BEEP BEEP
            Front door open BEEP BEEP
Garage side door open BEEP BEEP

I turn it off on the weekend haha

You can buy basic chimes at Walmart where you can set it to beep or alarm. They are very loud

I visited a child care program once that had these:

Wandering child alarms... I thought it was a fantastic idea!

It could also be used for sleep walking kids or elderly

I bought mine at Lowes Home Improvement. It doesn't have an on off switch but I just velcroed them to my door and frame. I take it down after hours and during naptime. I do it more so because I can't see my front door from the kitchen or our eating area. But once all the kids are here my door is normally locked anyway.
