    What Would You Charge?

How much would you charge to open 2 hrs or so earlier than your regular opening time?

I am rolling an idea around in my head at this moment in time and I am thinking a $20 flat rate per day.

$20 on top of what you charge for the day? I guess part of it depends on how bad I needed to fill the spot and/or if it was a child already in care.

That sounds good if it is really what you want to do! Right now, NO amount of money would cause me to open 2 hours early.

Since that would be 5am for me, IF it was going to happen $20 would be the LEAST I'd charge! I abhor mornings.

I charge $10/hr for my overtime so $20 sounds spot on! I've charged a family that same rate for an early drop off one morning.

I'd do it for $15-$20/day depending on the child. $15 if they would go back to bed for a couple of hours until my kids wake up.

I do a 30 minute early arrival option now for an extra $20/week so $4/day but I'm up and ready to go 30 minutes before my first arrival so it's not so big a deal.

I don't live at my daycare. I did it for a client who got made when I didn't open the door the minute he saw my car pull up. He contracted for an extra hour, not 1.5 hours. After a couple of days he said this was DCG's last day. He was very ungrateful. I now tell people no, it's not worth it to me.

I already open 45 min. early for a few families FREE OF CHARGE (but, they must arrive within a certain window of time).

This one particular family has tough times, occasionally, where Dad needs to leave for work at 5:30AM. This is what I am considering offering. It may not be worth spending $20 to him.

If it isn't worth him spending $20, it isn't worth me getting up early.

Actually 2 hours early is waaayyyy too early for me period.

Yes ANY less than $20 makes it not worth my time. Opening any earlier than 45 minutes and making any less than $20 is also not worth my time...even if it is 15 minutes earlier.

I have farm animals to milk and too much to do before the children get here.

I charge $5 for every half hour or portion of for overtime. So two hours would be $20 for me if I was willing to do it.
