I have one dcg who is a little angel for me all day but she is so bad in public with her parents that mutual friends have started to make comments to me about how badly she behaves. Do you think people will see this as a bad reflection on me? Do you are this happening with your dck's outside of daycare?

It can go both ways.
I can't tell you how many times a parent has tried to blame issues they have at home, only at home , on what happens at my house. With a few questions I can usually help them find the root of the issue.
Lately the Pre-K teachers have been the ones saying the behavior problems they are having with a kid who just left here have to do with our group. :::
: Way to pass the buck ladies.... DCK was great here.
When people want an easy out for their own issues they often go for the blame game.- Unless otherwise stated, all my posts are personal opinion and worth what you paid for them.- Flag

Oh I have a DCB who's absolutely naughty for his parents but rarely acts up for me. He is definitely a crybaby but he doesn't tantrum here. Today he threw a little tantrum at drop off and a monster tantrum at pickup and basically kept them here past closing and everything trying to calm him down. I was shocked! He never acts like that here.- Flag

In general kids are better for ANYONE than their parents - especially their moms. It's a trust thing, they know Mom (and Dad) will love them no matter how bad they are so they let er rip with their parents. And because we're not the parents we don't hesitate to rein them in when they need it.- Flag

I have a 2 yo dcg and her mom started telling me about how horrible dcg is at the store. Like screaming, throwing her shoes, wanting to push the cart, in and out if the cart. Dcm asked me if I'd ever taken her shopping and if she behaved that way for me. So I changed my weekly grocery trip to Monday mornings right after breakfast. All 3 of my dcks go with me and we spend a good 1-2 hours shopping and browsing. We've been doing this for about a month and have had zero issues with bad behavior.
My son has terrible behavior with me, but never with anyone else. I truly believe it's all because of how I parent.- Flag

I'm glad I'm not the only who sees this. It is getting pretty old that the blame gets put on everyone BUT the parents. How is it my fault how this girl acts when not in my care? I feel like I'm constantly defending myself and my business sometimes. Ok I'm going to go out my happy face on now!- Flag

I've seen DCK in stores with their parents before and I am not afraid to say, I've quickly ducked down another aisle to avoid having to stop and be unfortunate witness to a public tantrum.
No thanks...I prefer to believe my kiddos are all well behaved....even in public.:
