I started a new family last week, and I was feeling kind of nervous about how they would fit in. This week dcd got out of work early 2 days in a row and called to ASK if he could pick dcg up early because he wanted to spend some extra time with her! Um, YES! I was so impressed, I had to share

Wow. I didn't think parents like that even existed any more. I have dads who are gone for weeks at a time and say oh I miss my kids, I'll pick-up early and then they only show up 10-20 minutes earlier than mom would have. It is frustrating. I am happy you found a good one.

I'm pretty lucky- I've got 4 good families. Even my "airhead dingbat" (her term not mine) is just scatterbrained, not an inattentive parent. happyface

I'm very lucky - all of my current families are wonderful. I have a new one starting on the 8th, and they seem like they'll be great too.

All of my families are great. I think I'm spoiled. I called out sick one time since I started and was so afraid they would be angry. But I got "do you need gatorade and crackers?" "should I come get YOUR kids?" etc.

They're fantastic!

I don't know what I'm going to do when I get one of these problem families like I've read about here on the forum.
