    Where to Look For Assistants?

I have 2 part time assistants (it was intentional because it keeps them from burning out so quickly). One just gave notice, so I am back at the drawing board.

Last time I posted on CL and got tons of hits, then did a day of interviews back to back.

This time, I've gotten two hits off CL and they were both pretty bad (one was "I need a job"!).

Is there anywhere else that you advertise? Thanks!

Some of our super markets have a daycare room for you to drop kids off while you shop. I have given my business card to them to interview. You can advertise at any local colleges, church, library. I have posted an ad on Craigslist and so many loons came out to interview. It was actually kind of scary how unqualified some people are and think it's ok to work with children.

Do you have a local community college or university near by?

Lots of ECE students looking for hands on time.

I'd try somewhere like that if you can.

We (PA) have a state job assistance program called Career Link. Maybe your state has something like that. Might be worth a call.
