They are NOT dogs! What part of that don't you understand, dcm?
Dcb is struggling with PTing. Developmentally delayed in gross motor, fine motor, speech. (He is almost 4, not even close--- Mom is finally agreeing to an eval)
Anywho---
He comes in this morning with watermelon to share. Dcm said she was cutting some for her lunch, and dcb asked to bring some for everyone. I HIGHLY doubt this as this child struggles with sharing AND he can't articulate thoughts that well.
I said "How nice of you dcb. Thank you dcm." and dcm says "I told him you would give him some candy for being so kind. Also, we are giving him candy for successfully going in the potty, so he will have lots of treats today. Right dcb?"
"Sorry dcm. I don't reward behavior with food. I also don't keep candy in the house, nor would it be fair to give dcb treats and the other kids nothing."
She just looked annoyed and left, while dcb whined about the lack of promised candy. I feel like the watermelon was a bribe.
She sent me a text asking how dcb did on the potty today (not well) and said "He was doing better last night with a mini snickers each time he went." I have yet to respond to that.
Why can't they act like adults instead of children?
