    Any Ideas What This Is?

We thought heat rash but it got WAY worse overnight. No fever, no fussiness. She is 6 weeks old. Rash is mostly on face but is starting to go onto chest. Nowhere else at all.

I can't post pictures for some reason- so here is a link where you can see them:

    TIA!

Might be roseola. You can google it to research it and see what you think.

That's what I was thinking. Looks a lot like when my DS had it. He pretty much only had it on his face and chest area. Kinda strange it seems to follow the jaw line

I know it's Monday and you haven't seen him in 2 days but do you know if he had a fever right before the rash popped up. Sometimes that happens.

Ehhhh I'm actually going to go non-viral and say allergy! It looks like hives to me. Is mom nursing? My DS developed an allergy to dairy/lactose at about 6wks old. One day he was fine, next day he had a little rash, then a big rash! Could even be laundry detergent, soap, lotion...

LOL! That's my grandbaby. She is pretty damn cute

She hasn't had a fever at all, hasn't even been fussy (any more than normal). It started as a very small rash on the sides of her cheeks on Thurs/Fri- right where the head support touches her face on the carseat so we thought it might be heat rash. We took the head support off and changed the cover (washed in hypoallergenic soap, same kind we always use) on Sat.

The rash was a little worse yesterday, but it was pretty warm and she was outside at a BBQ for a while w/ dad's side of the family. I hadn't seen her since yesterday late in the evening until about an hour ago when my daughter came by to have me watch her for a little while. Sometime within that time it got way worse (my dd says she doesn't know when, don't know why she didn't notice?).

She is not BF, she was, but she switched to formula about 2 weeks ago. She is using milk based.

hm. in a babe that young i'd say go to the doc. it does NOT look like roseola to me (that's lacey and all over), nor does it look like heat rash. Bug bites maybe? or hives...or food allergy.
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

This looks just like my DD's drug rash that she developed when she was a baby. She was allergic to a form of penicillin. So, I agree that it looks like an allergic reaction, too. I also agree that your grand-baby is above-average adorable.

Good plan ^^^ She is absolutely Adorable! Even without a fever, with a baby that young I'd have a call into the dr just to see what they say.

Not roseola, there would be high fever and the rash would look more lacey.

I'm going with eczema. That's how my kids' started at the same age.

I am betting viral. Hopefully not just sun allergy. Some babies/kids just get rashes all the time. Hope it is something simple!
