I don't normally hold spots for anyone for any reason.
I have X number of spots and can't afford to leave on empty if I want to pay my bills.
If a spot is open, it needs to be paid for whether the child is attending or not. -

I also do not hold spots .
If you hold a spot and then the parent decides not to enroll you just lost out on potentially filling that spot with another child .Comment
