    Parents Pleeeeeeeeeeze

If your 3 month old is going to be in a group care setting, DO NOT hold them ALL day long including when they sleep!!!!!!! It's just not feasible in a group setting with one provider.

    Big, big, GROAN!!!

I have a two year old who, when she started at 6 weeks, had never had anything in her mouth except her mom's breast and had never slept ANYWHERE except on her daddy's chest. Thank you, parents, for the worst month of my life in this business!

            Thank you, thank you......
            My problem exactly!
How do you work with this type of situation?
Got a six month old who cries and screams all day long if not in my arms.
Do you say something to dcp's, and if so.....what?
Weaning them from this, or teaching to self soothe is difficult if it isn't being addressed at home.
            What do you do?

Ugh, I had the same problem...and now I can spot those parents coming! I had a baby from four months to 10 months old - fell asleep in my arms on the interview. So sweet! Right? No! More fool me, she only slept so peacefully BECAUSE she was in my arms. Would stand there and scream and scream. She was a very stubborn and persistent baby. Nothing I did would work. I would try and soothe her every five minutes, etc. It got to the point where my husband would get angry every time he saw her!

The best day of my year-long time in daycare was when she left!!!
I had not realized how much it was dragging me down in mood, etc.

              TERM, TERM, TERM!!!

Oh, and I wrote them a letter explaining how it had gotten progressively worse, all of the things I had tried, how I had talked to them about it...blah, blah, blah. At the end, I gave them a name of a sleep trainer. ::

Ugh I can sympathize with your struggles! We have a dcg that is almost one. When she came to us a few months and her parents and former care takers held her all the time. She's just now being able to interact in activities and has gotten better with crying, but she still cries the majority of the time. We lovingly hold all of our kids but not continuous!
