    Easy Come Easy Go

Ok so I posted that a new dcg was starting this week ( wed). Mom was to pay and sign contract yesterday. On the phone Mom couldn't have been more excited to get this going. Then, you guessed it... Missed our appointment yesterday. I left two messages. No response. Honestly, I know by now from the forum to expect this stuff but it still makes me angry I had everything ready for signatures etc. Ugh! Enough said

Oh well, sounds like you dodged a bullet with that family! On the bright side all the paperwork will be ready for a new family..

I have had a few recent situations like this. Oddly, I have had 3 families in the past 4 months enroll, only to decide the commute to get here takes too long. At least one family was new to the area, but the others have no excuse. I feel like having new families initial a printout of map quest directions or something, so they have to think about the commute. Also, all 3 wanted out of the contract's 1 month notice policy.Who enrolls their child without actually planning on following through? You probably did dodge a bullet!

How annoying - but I echo that it sounds like you dodged a bullet! I am waiting for paperwork from a family I interviewed last week. I gave them the deadline of Friday to start the following Monday (since I wasn't overly eager to fill the spot, I didn't worry too much about securing it right away) so we will see if they follow through!

I find that they do eventually get back in touch- either something happened or didn't work out at another daycare. By then, I just tell them I am full, even if I'm not. If someone doesn't share the common courtesy I have shown, they can go...you know where ::
