For Those Who Give Nebulizer Treatments

Does anyone know about the safety of sharing one nebulizer machine? I have FOUR kids on neb treatments this week. I don't like all these machines in my house. I am wondering if it is safe for them all to use MY nebulizer, and just use different tubing and masks for each child.

Anyone have any answers for this? I am thinking that it should be safe to just do this, but don't want to until I KNOW we won't be spreading stuff around.

Yes. I own a nebulizer and have 4 different kids that could require one.

Each has their own mask and/or chamber and tubing.

I wash and air dry after use but I use the same nebulizer machine for all.

The public health nurse came in years ago to train me on it's use and that is what she said...each kid should have their own tubing, mask and/or chamber but aren't required to have separate nebulizer machines.

Absolutely! My daughter has had neb treatments in the dr office. They use the same machine with a brand new tubing set

I have three total machines here but only one I use for daycare kids.... They each have their own set ups that the parents replace every 3 months... And their sack is in their cubby with their name on it....

Just be sure you replace the filters according to manufacturer instructions because the filters can transmit dust and germs directly down the airway.....
