New dcb spits up like volcano

6 week old dcb just started on Monday. She is breastfed. She spits up almost constantly after eating, on some days it is projectile. I suspect it is something the mom is eating...do I, or how do I tell mom there seems to be something wrong? Or does she have that stomach valve problem?

I would ask mom if she has mentioned it to the doctor. If she has and the doctor says nothing is wrong I would then just casually say "oh something you ate must not agree with dcb." And if it continues each and everyday at pick up say "dcb spit up most/some/all of his bottle each feeding." If you do infant sheets I always note on there if they spit up alot. Mom may not even realize this isn't normal.

It sounds like it could be reflux. My dd used to do that when she was a baby, every time she ate; I had to take many showers! She was diagnosed at around a month old so she was put on meds and it went away by the time she was 1. Hopefully the dcm gets it checked out because if it is reflux and it goes untreated, dcb could potentially have lasting effects.
