CL ads for a Monday Laugh

Misspelled the hospital's name, badly written, and that rate??? wow.
Found another that spelled educational wrong.

She won't last long with that schedule and rate.

    4 am-6 pm for $60?

Also-does anyone else see a lot of sahms advertising that they're looking for a playmate for their kid? Great, but people don't pay for friends like that...

The last one with the "low ratios" makes me go ...yeah.... I see she is not advertising as licensed or regulated, so I immediately suspect hiding kids so that parents have no idea how many are there. Low ratios, to me, means less than whatever requires regulation (so in WI, that's 3). That would be an income of $180 per week for 14 hours of work a day. sure.....

She says nothing about her program. It just was "look, I'm dirt cheap, offer crazy hours, accept state pay"

        Ew.

I'm sure her phone has been ringing nonstop though.

ETA: I didn't read the second one *shudders* 20 years old? Already a toddler and infant in the house? $50 for unlimited kids? My heavens.

Sadly that is ALL a lot of parents are interested in.

To them, the rest is just fluff.

yes to all that. I was a young mom & wife too- had my first 3 weeks before my 19th b-day, and had my 2nd before 21...then had my 3rd 15 yrs later. So, I have a 20 yr old, an 18 yr old, a 3 yr old, and am pregnant w/ my 4th. Yeah, it gave me a big pause though- too busy and chaotic and unlimited extra kids for dirt cheap? Asking for trouble. Also, I think the majority of 20 yr olds now are not the same as when I was 20. That could be me just being 'old' though.

              Thought I'd seen it all!

WOW! No GOOD parent in their right mind would even consider contacting those people. My first thought would be the good old saying "You get what you pay for". Not to mention how crazy this lady would be after watching kids for those long hours making next to nothing! Crazy people I tell ya!

I never like when I see ads talking about "expensive child care" because when you break it down, most of us are only making a few dollars an hour taking care of each child, feeding them, teaching them, etc. To me, expensive is not around $3.00 per hour or less.

Paying less than a dollar an hour is crazy to me. I don't want to buy my child care at the Dollar Tree. The quality there isn't fantastic and I'm sure the quality of care for $.90 an hour, or so, is about the same.

From what I have gathered, Indy averages between $100-125ish for pt, and 150-185 ft at home childcares. I charge 100 for 2-3 days, and 120 for 4-5 days. I get paid holidays, vacations, etc.. I may be low or average, but I've only been able to find prices on a handful of places.
