I feel that I am getting my message across, I just feel very wordy and not smooth in these additions I am adding to our handbook (my teachers renew their contracts in May and both are trying for siblings). I have two separate wordings I was hoping for help on - one is holding an infant sibling spots (I am only accepting infants if they are siblings of currently enrolled children) and one regarding clarifying expectations of teacher's families in terms of fees.
[from my Parent Handbook]
HOLDING AN INFANT SIBLING SPOT
If a position is or will be available, you have the option of paying a fee to hold this position for you. If you wish to hold a position, you will need to pay a non-refundable fee equal to one week’s rate to hold the position. The infant sibling position can be held for up to 8 weeks by paying this fee. After those 8 weeks, regardless of the infant's enrollment, regular childcare weekly fees will be due to continue to hold/keep the spot. Otherwise any care will be offered on an availability only basis at the provider's discretion.
[from the teacher's version of my fee agreement]
Teachers may opt to hold their spot throughout the summer months for no fee. However, this option means that if there is no school, (e.g. snow day/spring break/winter break/etc) then there will be no childcare provided. Childcare fees are still due for no school days at full rate unless given two weeks of notice, in which case the half rate applies. The alternative option is that teacher’s pay for the summer at a half rate to hold their spot for the fall.
o I opt to hold spot through summer for no fee with no guarantee of childcare on no school days. Any request for childcare on no school days, including summer months will be considered drop-in care, based on availability and provider discretion.
o I opt to hold spot through summer for half rate fee so that childcare will be available at all times.
