    Meanie award

Sooooooo....I made a very sweet, very pregnant mom cry yesterday. Do I earn the meanest provider award?

This mom is a dear friend of the family. In fact, I used to babysit for her and her sisters when they were little. I currently keep her 1 yo dd, and she is expecting her second the end of April. I knew from her mom that she would really like to be able to stay home with the girls, which I think is great. But financially, that will be very difficult for them.

So I just casually asked yesterday afternoon what her plans were when the baby comes (will you need me, will first dd come during maternity leave, etc.). She tears up and says, "I just don't know what I am going to do!" Then she is crying and says, "Please pray for us to be able to figure all this out."

Poor girl! What was I thinking, with all those hormones pulsing through her veins?! I totally should have waited for her to bring this up! Especially since I don't want to fill those spots anyway...

So...hand it over...I'll take the statuette and have prepared an acceptance speech.

Oh, Msdunny, you're not a meanie!

You can never know what to say to a pregnant woman. For some, their hormones are raging and others are fine.

I remember when I was pregnant for my dd, I cried because her dad said he was going to the store!

Then when I was pregnant with my ds, I watched one of those reality ghost shows and got so scared that I was crying one night when I was alone and wouldn't go out to the family room alone at night for the longest time.

    Hormones are a weird mystery!

:: I made a pregnant mother cry as well for almost the same thing. I asked if she was going to bring dcb and sibling in the fall. It was via email. She replied via email and said she was happy I emailed her as she is so emotional with trying to figure out what to do and if they can financially afford her staying home. She made me cry when she said she felt blessed to have someone to watch dcb that loves him like his own.

Don't feel bad!! Its the hormones!

When I was pregnant with my youngest, I cried when we ran out of milk once.

Pretty sure it was her hormones making her cry, not you.

        You aren't a meanie.
