    Supplies Diapers And Wipes

Do you supply diapers and wipes? I do and I'm rethinking the wipes thing at least for one boy. I have a toddler who is almost 18 mos. He is a big boy and not yet walking. He weights 32 pounds and when he poops, which is twice a day every day, I have to use an insane amount of wipes to clean him up. He has had more explosions than I can count! Ugh! What would you do? Sorry if it's TMI.

I provide wipes. A box of Huggies Natural something or other runs me about $12 and lasts more than a month. And I don't skimp on the wipes... I use them for absolutely everything from diaper changes to cleaning messes. It's a pain for me to remind parents when I need diapers and rash cream so I didn't want to add wipes to it. Plus since I pay for them I can use as many as I want

I do supply wipes, but not diapers. I figure wipes are so cheap, I would rather buy them than have to worry about who's wipe I used on who's butt.

I have though about doing a rotating wipe purchase with the parents, each month a different parent has to supply a "costco size" wipe box. That leaves the parents buying wipes every 7 months, which to them is probably no big deal, but it saves me a lot of money. You could do something like that?

I have been learning from families who are interviewing that other local home daycares, and most centers are charging a large (150$) enrollment fee to cover the cost of wipes/diapers/tissues. You could do that? Maybe not $150...I was when I saw that!

All my parents are required to bring one re-fill pack of wet-wipes on the first of each month.

Last year I told everyone that rather than raise rates, I was going to have the parents chip in and start helping with supplies instead.

We use wet wipes for EVERYTHING so it was easier to just have every child bring one re-fill package on the first of each month.

Works awesome and I have a huge supply of wipes.

I only have 3 kids in diapers and 1 is cloth diapered and the other two just bring a package of diapers to leave here every other week.

I supply wipes and diapers. It's a lot easier on me! Would your mom be open to supplying wipes? I like Blackcats idea! Would that work for you?

Sounds similar to me. I spend $12 a month or so on a big thing of Huggies and it's worth every penny. I ask parents every few months to bring me some wipes to offset my cost and they don't mind at all.

nope-parents provide them. Both of my current families, and myself, all use cloth w/ cloth wipes & provide a wet bagor plastic bag to store dirty ones in. Works well for me here.

I supply diapers and wipes. I have one DCB that is always struggling with constipation. Somedays he will go through 6+ diapers a day (just tiny amounts of poop in each diaper). It is a little frustrating but It usually usually balances out when he isn't constipated.

I think I would be a little upset if my provider told me they would supply items and then tell me that because my child uses more than other children, I need to start supplying them. The parent doesn't have control over their child's poop.

Could you find cheaper wipes to use on this child and then use a nice one to finish up the job? Or many do the opposite, use good quality wipes on the poop so you use less and then use the cheapy wipes on pee diapers??

I think that if you are going to make one parent provide wipes, you should make them all.

BC - do you have the parents supply other items monthly too? or just wipes?

                      wipes and tissues.

I didn't use too have them supply them but it seems we go through them so quickly that I was left with either raising rates or asking parents to chip in.

I asked them and they all said they would rather chip in than pay more.

Now they all bring me one refill pack of wipes (any brand) and one box of tissues (ANY brand other than generic) OR they pay $5 in lieu of supplies.

Works great for me! See my stash!

I provide wipes but when they start I have them bring a case. That way everyone has contributed. But I also have my own kids in diapers so it's easier for me to buy them then to have to get each kids wipes everytime. Now if I didn't have my own in diapers I may do it differently.

Same here. Some parents are particular about the diapers/wipes/diaper cream they use, so they supply all three. I've also had some parents who were going some where after pick-up & didn't bring spare diapers, so they've grabbed a few from their child's bin, which was fine being they provided them & would be replacing them.

I supply them and factor in the cost to all of my parents. We use them for EVERYTHING and I am particular about brand (huggies wipes only). I buy a box once every month or so, around $15, and usually have a coupon.

I think it would be okay to require ALL parents to bring a small refill wipe thing once a month, but not just ONE family.

Ew at the poo though, is it dietary?
