    I Need to Paint

I started taking down the Hideous Crap on the wall yesterday (dark brown paneling on bottom half, 80s square mirrors and "cork strips" on the top half) and lo and behold I discovered that the color I painted the playroom walls years ago (kind of the color of yellow cake) is just a few shades different from the color the old owners had in here.

I've been doing that ALL over the house. It's spooky and it's bothering me a little bit. So I need to paint, .

What do you think...other rooms in the house are purple, blue, and a medium green I'll someday put in the upstairs bathroom. The room gets a fair amount of sun, but is a lower level room so it tends to be rather cool.

I'm thinking some sort of minty green, or maybe just brightening the yellow to something more lemony?

I guess I could take pictures...
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

I painted my kitchen "honey pot." It's like a buttery yellow. It's pretty during the day but it looks more lemony at night. I painted my bathroom a color that I can only describe as a baby teal. It took many coats but is very pretty.

When I repaint a room I always try to go with something totally different than what is already there. It makes it easier for me to see the spots I missed:: However, if you paint a very similar color to what is already there, chips and peeling don't show as much!

I love color! My playroom space is an entire mural on every wall of spring. My dining is burnt orange, kitchen is dark red, my hallways is the most bland wall in the house and that is faux stone in a cream color.

I say go bold! The next time I paint, I want to do 2 walls pure white, one a bright color, and the next wall chevron patterned with the bright color/white.

it all depends on how your room is designed.
I don't have open concept but the rooms flow from one to the other, so if you sit you can see the other room, so I've now decided to paint everything one color, its a light green.
also you can do a big long wall one shade darker than the rest, it looks great too.

            I am terrified of color!

When we built our house and it came time to paint, I choose an off-white for every.single room. We had previously moved out of a house that was ALL dark paneling so I craved light tones.

The one room I did cave and paint was the den. I picked yellow and my goal was, I wanted the room to appear splashed in sunshine....

It turned out so bright and sunny that atleast once or twice a week, either DH or I go into the room and try to turn the light off....when it isn't on.

I LOVE yellow for rooms needing a cheer-up!

The paint we used was Behr (all in one paint and primer) in a shade called Sun Shower.

            So, I vote YELLOW

LOL this is similar to me.

Daycare rooms are all a tan as is all of the main areas of the house. I did get "colorful" for bedrooms. Child #1's room is a dark grey-blue (he wanted black and I said no). Child #2's room is a light grey-green (we didn't know gender when we painted). Guest room is dark tan. Master bedroom is light grey with a darker grey accent wall. Master bathroom is a dark purple.
