What Do You Do To Unwind After Your DCK's Leave?

I am just wondering what you do to unwind and regroup after your day is done with dealing with kids. That is of course if you don't have to right away deal with your own family and activities for the evenings, then I'm sure you can't always unwind or relax, you gotta keep going.

My kids are all grown and out of the house,so when my kids leave I have about an hour before my hubby gets home and I have to start dinner.

I either like to have it very quiet for a little bit or I put on some relaxing music, usually smooth jazz. Music really has a calming effect and just relaxes me. Once in awhile I will just sit down and have a nice glass of wine until the hubby comes home. I find my days are so busy and the kids are so noisy that I just need time to unwind afterwards.

Well, I have my own crew to get fed and out the door to activities but I do have a few minutes before where I sit and have a tea and either knit, read or watch the news.

      Pure Bliss

Most Fridays my hubs and I have date night, and spending a few hours of uninterrupted time with his wonderful face is such a nice treat after a long week. Because I don't have to wipe his nose. Then I remember I don't have to wipe anyone's nose but my own until Monday! Makes me want to shed a tear...

But by Sunday night I am so looking forward to wiping the cute little noses.

Sit on the couch and snuggle with my kids, snuggle with Dh, or run around like a mad women getting dinner finished..

If it's a weekday, I just go home and relax. Read, chat with DH or play a game and/or watch TV.

          If it's a Friday,....

            Drink....jk....jk about jk....

When everyone leaves I turn all of the electronics and music off and I lay on the couch for at least ten minutes in pure silence.

Then let my furry kids out and have some rough housing floor time to get out any semirage that im feeling

They love it and it makes me feel better. Then its wine time and some trashy tv and take out
Im so looking forward to it in a few hours

I go to the gym almost every day of the week and do Zumba. It starts at 5:45, so I run upstairs, change, and then I'm out the door. When I get back I take a looooong shower with Pandora on. Then I throw dinner together, play with DD a bit, and then put her to bed. THEN I relax.

I usually just watch junk TV or read, sometimes play a game. Tonight I will be drinking a bottle of wine I've been saving for a while. And yes, by bottle, I mean the whole thing. It will be magical.

I love watching TV with my family, but I also love to cross-stitch and tole paint and numerous other crafty things.

I am always decorating too. I actually love doing it! Nothing stays the same too long in my house!
