    poop everywhere

So I have a dcb that has been on this potty training thing for almost a month now. He has been doing really well with the peeing part, but then there are days where he will stand in the middle of the floor and let loose and then start to cry because he knows that he has wet his pants.

As for the pooping part he ALWAYS poop in his underwear and the dcps are pushing for him to stay in underwear. Well today I have had ENOUGH. He pooped in his pants this am and after nap time when I was in the bathroom with him I noticed poop running down his leg, as I went to turn him around to sit on the toilet poop went all on the stepping stool, the rugs, the floor, my pants leg, and my shoes. GROSS, i know and I am so sick of it!! Thanks for listening!

There is NO way he would be in underwear at my house. He may very well be capable of using the potty, but he is NOT potty trained.

For sanitation sake, my kiddos must remain in pull-ups until they are consistently using the toilet WITHOUT assistance or prompting. If they seem to be "sort of" getting it, but not consistenly, I will do underwear with a pullup over them. They can then feel the wetness, but my house stays clean.

If he cries because he knows he just wet his pants, he is not able to anticipate when he needs to go yet. He needs reassurance that he can keep trying. He's not being naughty. He just isn't really totally ready. That's ok; that's how we learn.

For example, when he was learning to walk and fell over, no one said "well, that's really naughty. You should know better". But, for some reason, with potty learning, we get negative. Not saying YOU are doing this; but someone clearly is because he cries when he gets wet. Although, I'm fairly certain you may have freaked out a little, openly, when he bm'd everywhere (I know I sure would have).

I did, I FREAKED out it was everywhere!! I called for the dcps to pick up, they didn't sound or act like they were upset, but I'm so over him being in underwear.
