Two of my neighbors are insurance agents and they said unless the damage is $5000 or above not to report it because if you have more than one in a year they will probably drop you.
I am an agent for a large company. Call their company bc it comes from property damage insurance not your own homeowners policy. The dcm is liable and will pay a deductible and insurance should pay you usually

You need to have the entire door replaced at her cost. It doesn't matter the age. It was in good condition and functioning and now it isn't. The panels won't match. Her insurance will pay for a new door.

My siding was 25 years old and a wind storm took off a few pieces. They couldnt match it so insurance replaced all of it. And they had to do the garage as well because they matched.

I agree! I am curious as to what happened with this. Is mom's insurance taking care of it?

DCM paid the entire fee to replace the garage door.

She knows that it was entirely her fault and didn't want to go through her insurance company.

She paid me in cash when she came to pick up DCB.

The door was replaced last Friday. And she still loves us! ::
