    Spin Off To "Free Play"

so since the kids are always in free play, do they play loudly or quietly (like nomal level)

I'm just wondering because my group plays at a normal level, unless they decide to sing all together, but they are pretty tame.

Mine play at a normal level until someone snatches a toy & a toddler screams over it.
This week they have been playing lunchtime where they fix lunch. Today one little girl told another the "sit on her bottom" & I had to laugh. ::

Mine play at a normal level but the more fun they have the louder they get. I normally ask them if we are inside or outside and what their voices should sound like to get them to tone it down a little.

My group, too. I tolerate louder volumes better when everyone is playing and getting along.

For sure! I feel bad sometimes when I tone down the giggles that have turned to shrieks but I know it will turn to laughing screams after that so I do.

It depends on who's here. If the 5 y/o twin boys are here it gets progressively louder unless I'm in constant redirect mode. Any other day it's blessedly normal without all the boy sounds ::.

Ditto here too, however sometimes the volume gets too loud if you know what I mean and the sole purpose of their play is to be loud so I step in at that time and ask that they check their volumes.

I've thought about getting a yacker tracker ::

I have a 2 yo. who is naturally loud and is here every day. I often have to ask him to talk quietly, which he does....for a second...

Other than that the noise level varies. All my kids are 2 and under, except for one who is 3. If they are contently playing, it's usually not too loud. They do seem to all follow each other though, so usually if one screams, they all scream and the 3 yo. loves to belt out an ear piercing shriek at random times.

Today happened to be a very loud day! Nap time couldn't have come any sooner!
